Data Deletion Request

Effective date: 2026-04-19 · Version 1.0

Noding is an anonymous service that does not require sign-up, and anyone can request deletion of the data linked to their device or identity. This page explains how we honor deletion rights under the Republic of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act, the GDPR "right to be forgotten" (Art. 17), and the California CCPA/CPRA right to delete.

You can delete individual posts, comments, and chat messages directly in the app. To remove your entire account data (interest map, push token, logs, and so on), follow the steps below.

Option 1 · Delete individual items in the app

Deletions are immediate, and the content is also removed from backups within 30 days.

Option 2 · Uninstall the app to sever the link

Uninstalling the Noding app removes the localId stored on the device. Reinstalling creates a new localId that is not linked to your previous data. Note, however, that content you published remains on the server. If you want full removal, use Option 3.

Option 3 · Request full deletion by email

To remove all server-side data associated with you, follow these steps.

Step 1 · Find your localId

Open the app → Settings → "My Info" → "Device ID" to view and copy your localId (a UUID). Because the localId is the only key that identifies you, providing it speeds up processing.

Step 2 · Send the email

Email privacy@noding.app using the template below. Please include [Data Deletion Request] in the subject line.

To: privacy@noding.app Subject: [Data Deletion Request] Hello, I would like to request deletion of all data associated with my use of Noding. - localId: (UUID found in the app settings) - Nickname (optional): (a nickname you remember) - Applicable law (optional): PIPA / GDPR / CCPA - Scope: account, content, activity logs, push token — everything Thank you.

Step 3 · Identity verification

Because Noding is anonymous by design, we do not ask for a government ID. Instead, we verify requests using the localId you provide and reasonable signals such as whether the request originates from the same device or email. For requests submitted through an authorized agent, we require a written authorization and a copy of the agent's ID.

Step 4 · Processing and response

We process requests within 10 business days and reply by email. If certain items must be retained to comply with law (for example, access logs retained for 3 months under Korean law), we will identify those items and the retention period in our response.

Frequently asked

I uninstalled the app but my posts are still there.

Uninstalling only clears the localId on your device. It does not automatically remove content already stored on the server. You can still request removal by email — include what you remember (content snippets, approximate time, nickname used) so we can locate the items.

Will quotes of my content by other users also be deleted?

We delete your original content. Content authored separately by others that references yours is handled case by case. If you believe another user's content infringes your rights, please also report it.

I'm in the EU or California — do I have additional rights?

Yes. EEA/UK residents may additionally exercise GDPR rights such as access, rectification, and portability. California residents may exercise CCPA/CPRA rights including opt-out of "sale" and "sharing." Please use [GDPR Request] or [CCPA Request] in the subject line so we can apply the correct framework.
